Beyond the Horizon

beyond the horizon
no illusionary eyes see
a past or present
only day and night
the twilight

beyond the horizon
no vertigo
no mirages
only the rising sun
the setting moon

beyond the horizon
lies the truth
lies the boundaries
which contain time
it stands still there

beyond the horizon
is another dimension
neither reality or dream
a world that goes unseen
in the land of make believe

We are limited in our existence by the parameters of time and space and our own learned and circumstantial experience. I suppose it serves the purpose of grounding us to reality and the lessons we must learn in our own skins. But I think that we all know intuitively where we came from and we long for that place 'beyond the horizon'. A fine write, Dale...

I love this CJ!
"Neither reality or dream". That line really got my attention
An absolutely perfect description of how I feel about "over there".

Thank you.

It's been such a long time since I've read poetry by you Dale. This is my fault and not yours. I'm glad that I'm in your den now and can read your words once again. You write so expressively and I love this one.
Luv and friendship... Chanti

Dale,
Now you know why I chose to stay there!
I love the peace and the make-believe, not only is it always safe, but there are no limits and boundries to hold one back.
Awesome write Dale!

Yes, it is make believe to us, but beyond the horizon is rweal-time for the folks living over there. Oops, you threw in "another dimension," didn't you? Well, drat. Okay, it is make-believe. Good.
