Poets’ Emotions

This conveyor of emotion
speaks words of love and sorrow

The sounds of verse
the muse whispers

Must she speak?

Colors breathe light
and paint a poem

Your heart is broken
by the beautiful one
Vivid is the night

This emotional relic
wears pain artfully

The moon and stars shine
dancing with the light
The music is the words

Must the ink run dry?

The pain is sunrise
caressing the morning
The dew is the pain

So bitter, so cold
this icy sorrow

This conveyor of emotion
speaks words of love
in the dark silent night

Ooooo, this is just so delicate and clever, Dale, hitting so many tender and vibrant emotional chords with superb helical expression, like a tender wind chime. It's like a watercolour that you see more the more you look into it, and the vagueness turns instead to perfected balance of light and shape to outline the form portrayed masterfully. I envy greatly your light-hand and freedom of expression. And your brevity of words that, like watercolour painting, again, carries all the weight in its hypertensility. BTW... am I making any sense? Have not a clue... love this, though! TY Kate xx

"This conveyor of emotion" that we are, "speaks words of love and sorrow" and that we do. And I pray the ink never runs dry whether it be for love or pain, we write because we must -- it's a poet's credo. Thank you very much for this poetic jewel.

Carmen :-)
