Nightmares are awful but this poem about them is awesome and says so much so well with few words,I really enjoyed this read.

Yes, we are the "riders" of our nightmares, "pounding and pummeling" the emotions we push from the surface during waking hours. How you put it to the page concentrated through image and metaphor! Powerful, Dale!
Yeah, well, this strikes a chord; I have this enacted EVERY night as my husband is a very restless sleeper! It's just easier to stay awake and dodge the fists flying in all directions... thankfully, no balls of fire though, so I should perhaps be grateful for small mercies. Well, Dale, this is a new recipe for you: seasoned and brought to the boil nicely - but, wot?? NO BLANKET??!! Oh, I got it... it's nightmares induced BY no blanket... I always wake up from them to find myself completely uncovered and freezing, hence the panic! :)) We will all have a different visual for this... mine comes from Lord of the Rings.
