Painted Bodies
They paint their bodies
for Mardi Gras
now that I can admire
The beauty of words
I’d wondered why
my muse was nude
Her body painted too
had nothing to do with ink
smearing, running
She whispered grinning
You fool
get out your brushes
and stroke the colors
Therein lies the words
The curves rhyme
free form you choose
Brush your emotions
You’ve nothing to lose
She smiled demurely
the painted muse
carried her body of words
upon her curves and colors
I could now admire
I never wondered again
why my muse was nude

Now that's really set me off! Where's that muse of mine? And where's the spray paint and the brushes?!
