Purpose of Flesh

My muse whispered to me
Dale, what’s the purpose of flesh

I thought it a test of my faith

The purpose of flesh,
I replied is to reproduce
be fruitful and multiply
it’s consummation of flesh & spirit

I thought I suffered an emotional breakdown
the extension of spirit I supposed
The flesh is not emotional
Linear bodies don’t exist,
there in circular orbits
two bodies entwined

Minds as one,
emotional breakdown,
leaving out any desire,
lacking a spirit

I thought though,
It’s the lust of the flesh,
which needs another
to consummate the spirit

We seek orbit,
wrestling with the circles,
hence an emotional collision
Love is found

The purpose of flesh
is the consummation of spirit

Very nice work, Dale. I'm glad my muse didn't ask me what was the purpose of flesh. I probably would have answered her thus, "To cover my bones up, you twit." LOL
Well done, Dale!
My very warmest regards,
CJ

The chief end of flesh, spirit and mind is to glorify their Maker. Though I have to add that very often the flesh and its lusts has other ideas, ones that conflict with our conscience.

BINGO!!! Worked darn finely into its consummation, Dale... you carried through your proposition, setting it up nicely for the captivating final couplet. Wonderfully wrought and beautifully figured. TY K xx
