Badlands

This ancient moonscape
dried up river beds
canyons and mountains
arroyos and arid soil

This harsh and brutal heat
In the distance, a mirage
of pines and green meadows
travelers on foot walking

Mysterious beings walking
toward the water not there
The spectors power is unknown
Speaking only to those who see

Tales of the Badlands
told around the campfires
whispers come from the spirits
teaching their ancient mysterys

This ancient moonscape
shining in a midnight sky
They look into the fire
for visions of ancient times
