Those cats
was hip
down on sixties street
smoke curled
out of their ears
feets bare
beads in their hair
tatooed fears
dragons snorting fire
armed snakes
with fangs
cross and skull
daggers
butterflies fluttering
in their minds
ships sinking
into their hearts
filling up with tears
rolling down
into a blue-red sea
bloodied
as black night falls
a chick
name of Mary Jane
blows their minds
day dreams
change their attitudes
Those cats
so cool
bathing in blue
water fall
cascading...Man
they'll dream tonight
of pirates
sailing with Jolly Rodgers
flying in the air
windy like
They blow...Baby
a saxxy tune
under street lights
a hazy view
Those cats
was so hot
tepid like...Mama
to heat
up the avenue
of unquenched teats
undulating thighs
with horns
like crazy...Baby
Oh, Man!

Wow! What an intense romp this poem takes the reader on through a bonanza of visual offerings and set to a jazz-like tone of incredible improvisation and creative energy. Awesome write!
Love it, love it... but where have they all gone now??!!! Have to say, I who was slightly toooo young (hard to believe, I know!) to be hardcore hip, am having much renewed vim and vigour fused into me ageing hip bones (not hip bones... hip bones... you know...) through the musical vibes of our Classic Rock station, Planet Rock, which is so far out and just too cool for school. At last I feel I'm experiencing the groove I seemed to have been born for... perhaps my mother was just too retentive to birth me at my proper time! :)) Long live Jerry Garcia! :)) Peace and flowers, SF-style!
