Facetious Poet

pretending to know it
all...or nothing
the colors of life
flash in his eyes
across the many skies
knowing the day
from the night
...or nothing at all

that line across the page
sketches your face
he fails to find the words
to describe your beauty
that dimple in your cheek
which comes with a laugh
your smile brightens his life
to believe in that special delight
that paints his joy
with a colorful brush
to capture happiness

that shape in shadow
illuminating the night
forms a starry surprise
to cover his canvas
that marks his page
mystifying angels with words
to take glorious flight

that facetious poet
pretending to know it
all...or nothing

(c) D.E. Clark

Perhaps he knows...nothing...
But he shares it so eloquently
That we pretend along with him...

Most of the time, I am channeled, and my muse is guiding my writing, I will have my muse speak to your muse and get the stuff straightened out..lol This was a very illuminating poem, Dale, you really know how to drive a point across. Very nicely done.

And your point is? Some people are still writing in black and white, they haven't learned to color yet. It doesn't mean they think they know everything, some are just trying to learn. Your words are beautiful and flow like silk; I wish I had your talent...I don't even come close...but one day, I'll learn to paint with a brush.

A Facetious Poet..but not for long.

Dale, poets have a tendency to study the depths of what they write. There's one thing for sure - only the poet knows what is in their minds to write and no one else has the keys to their knowledge. I truly enjoyed this nice writing.

Very well defined, we poets do look at matters of love and the heart in a different perspective, in fact I think we look at life in general in a different way then most and your poem expresses that rather well.

And thanks for your comments about oil.

A profoundly written piece of work. Deciding what to write, how to say it from your heart, making it come true in words worthwhile, lied the mystifying angels with words, to write a confounding write that is so true and knowing it is something worthwhile to us to read. You did great with this one.
