 Blinded

blind as a thunderstorm

raining a gully washer

the tears falling down

thunder rumbles

inside my soul

lightning sparks an inner glow

white tipped peaks

covered with soft gilt

by the waning sun

life essence is light

passage marks the journey

following mindless path

you have to understand

as I look out at this storm

the past floods my mind

my heart breaks

change comes without mercy

nothing is the same

someone let the clouds in

opening a hole in the sky

it poured into my heart

the world spins round

sun shines down

storms come and go

blinded by darkness

blossoms of stars alight

overwhelmed by universal night

(c) D.E. Clark

There's an invasion of thoughts and emotions
in this piece which also emphasized by the rhythm.
It's like a sky that is constantly changing.

Dale,
Excellent poetry. There's always a calmness after the storm.

I love the sense of overwhelming in this. You evoke both emotion and atmosphere and I most certainly feel flooded, drowning even. Wonderful and penetrating images: blind thunderstorm; and that punctured sky as the heavy heart, sodden with cloud. Striking and very thoughtful work, Dale. Good to see you back! :)) xx

There will always be storms in life, one must learn to endure, for once the storm is over, there will always be rainbows. Life is always a balanced state; but what we've learned from each experience is how to deal with it when a storm arrives.

The storm will pass and the sun will shine through. Painful write and touching one at that. Love, Bonnie
