cast their shadows
over you and I

we feel their power

against the sky
like love
quiet in our hearts
lingering in flight
with a melancholy sigh

time spins away
as the sun sets
in western sky

we gaze upon peaks
noticing white streaks
turn snow bald
into a full blown crown
looking over its shoulder
glancing upon piney ridge
between 'Twin Sisters'

we feel the twilight
in this moment
that we share love

lone wolf greets moon-bearer
craven crescent moon
turns out full
clouds spin all about
purple granite mountains
casting their shadows
over you and I

we feel heart beats
in the lonely night
swirl around sorrow
