shadow warrior

shadows of the ancients
gather along the mesa
deep in canyon land
where countless riders
once mounted
horses of timeless souls
escaping in painted war

a lone rider, a shadow rider
fades into ecliptic memory
blending with slivers of light
where shadows are born

looking towards the west
there red raven flies
our silhouettes appear
there in the land of the sun

shadow rider comes...
lone rider, shadow rider
speaks silent in the wind
saying this is where we live
where ghost warriors dance

shadows of the ancients
mount horses of glory
horses of timeless souls
deep in the land of death
countless riders mount
escaping in painted war
red raven flies

shadow warrior comes...

Dreamlike atmosphere, love the repetitions.
Hypnotic dance between life and death.

What a beautiful write about Native Americans. It's only a shame they are now "shadows"

Through the Amazon by S. Oliver Eldridge

The drug called "The Shari" has been used for vision quests over many years. But, when all the rivers start drying up, the tribe must send a young hunter named Tomás on a much more important trip through the Amazon.
