train whistles
whistling across horizon
tracks run rolling, rollicking
around stoney canyons
rocky, tumbling rivers
near abandoned mines
through tunnels, over bridges
majestic mountains and plains
painted desert views
life's journey mysterious
on magical train
with wheels of steel
bringing you home
flying on the iron breeze
thunder crashing
lightning flashing
I love trains, the sound of banjos playing, and mandolins. This poem brought back memories of all that back like a brick falling on my head. All the words you chose, whistling, rolling, tunnels, bridges all forged a vivid picture in my mind. Thanks for your inspiring poem.
