alone without any words
not knowing the thoughts
of the muse who hides
behind the beautiful images
of joy and pain

alone with these faces
that only whisper cryptic phrases

I stumble upon the mossy stones
of ancient wisdoms
I slip behind the walls of stone
hiding in the shadows
of which I’ve become

moaning the sounds
coming from the cryptic faces

searching aimlessly the secrets
gasping in breathless silence
the muse refuses to repeat
the phrases used so elegantly
by long dead poets

heart beats from stoney walls
buried long in earthen tombs

alone without any words
coming from the cryptic faces
I stumble into the mist
mumbling words of joyful pain
hiding behind the beautiful images
