I miss those summer nights already. Tired of winter.
Storm
starry night on dirt road
the dust cloud followed close
billowing upward to join the sky
sand settling back down to the ground
a rain cloud might form
as off in the distant night
a storm raged, flashed and rolled
thunder sounded gentle drumming a tone
while lightning flashed and night glowed
it framed it’s coming in the twilight’s delight
the gentle evening breeze
smelled sweet like the rain
the dry earth called out softly
whispering to the rain clouds thunder
in harmony it flashed and glowed gusting
the wind grew like lust
smiling then leering upon us
the storm clouds now rolled and roared
the rain sprinkled gently, then begin to pour
the gentle rain
turned into a cloud burst
then hail begin to spit and sputter
suddenly stopping, the rain sideways it came
just as sudden as the storm had appeared, it disappeared
how come we don't have beautiful storms like this in texas? they rage and destroy all in their path...no wonder i'm a storm phobic! but i'm not afraid of the beauty of this storm...excellent visuals and wording! (((HUGS))) and love, karla. :)
