Shadow Dance

I slipped into the shadows
one shadow
I dance
you slipped into the shadows
one shadow
you dance

now two shadows
became one
shadows underneath
one the big oak creates

branches and leaves
were the shadowy form
from within the one
and the sun ran
slivers into the earth
the forms of all
the shadow dance

now the sun rays
merged
and create light
where shadows were
now take flight

soon the night would come
and its huge shadow
only the moon could hide
and the stars divide

I slipped into the moon light
one shadow
I dance
you slipped into the star light
one shadow
you dance

we embraced and became
two which became three
and the shadows grew

shadows
the stars and moon dance
know the secrets of light
the moon light flowed
and the breeze whispered
and the stars glowed
and our shadows became one

we danced as shadows

Dale,
I know this dance! Your work is always so visual, and tranquil! You write from a higher plane!

Wowie!! I love shadows and all their forms of dancing! :) Gorgeous piece! Reminds me of a partial eclipse of the sun a few years back, clear skies, glorious day, and all the dappledness caused by trees or foliage were crescent shaped, your words made me feel that wonder, again! :)
