Mountains

The mountains call out
come and climb upon
my view
Nothing will be seen
No past, no future
just the starkness

The cold hardness
of the stone
It will bury you
like the dust
beneath its strength
You are nothing
Nothing will remember
nor be remembered

The wild beasts that roam
in the mountain wilderness
The colors you see
When the sun rises and sets
When rainbows appear
nor the silver sky
in which angels fly

The mountains call out
come and climb upon
my peak
Nothing will survive me
No past, no future
inside me the darkness
The stillness without time

Dale,
You have taken me to the mountain. Thank you, it has been a long time since I climbed one. I had not realized how much I had forgotten until you wrote this.

Dale, very well done. I'm sure this is a feeling which has touched the souls of they who have tried to conquer them. Nothing as majestic anywhere.

You transport me to so many places in your poetic imagery ( and I don't get out much :( ) *smile*
This is beautifully done.
