It was violet
don’t take out the blue
cause it felt
like another Monday
and I’m always that hue
especially if it s Friday
plenty of time
for orchids
and roses of thorns
cause it’s no holiday
I wish you were here
with me to celebrate
an ordinary day

It was violet
the color of the night
like satin or velvet
smooth & oh so soft
don’t take out the blue
cause you’re gone
and I’m all alone
plenty of time
for flowers to bloom
so come closer
I’ve love to spare
it awaits night and day
to flash it’s colors
onto your canvas

It was violet
the thought of you
removes the blue
it feels like midnight
