Dry Rain

Dry rain falling down
never reaching ground
The wind constantly blows
nothing ever coming of it
like a constant nagging
at the back of my head
Tired of the cold desert
and the dry smell
of sage

Dry lightning flashes
above fleeing inhabitants
hiding for shelter
The constant barrage of light
lasting until twilight
Suddenly disappearing
like the wind
Now it’s still
and I can’t even think
of what I was going to be
to change
This dissipation of rain

Dry thunder crashes
outside the window
beyond the horizon
left with all these feelings
built up inside of me
waiting to weep
yet be glorious
Leaving nothing unsaid
I could only hope
for another chance
to dream of beauty

All these wishes & regrets
Dry rain falling down

Well written piece, Dale...
I guess we all get to feel the sting of 'dry rain' on our faces at one time or another...
May the spring rains come quickly!
Thanks...

Dale, you have a way of conveying your message that really goes deep...this one is dark and gloomy with lost hopes like the
weather that promises to rain but never does... I know of realtionships like this they can be agony...Hope that's not the case;-)

Oh Dale I feel more than helplessness from this piece, and if you ask me what I would have to honestly say it is hard to put into words to describe so exacting...frustration, exasperation...and more!
Excellant Write!
Happy New Year
