The bitter cold came in
left the door ajar
seeping through
though the sun shone
only light danced in
no warmth

The frozen ground
deep within
A shadow jumped
and shivered
looking out the open
door ajar

The windows veiled
though transparent
upon opening
were like ice
In the distant horizon
lay summer

The warm breeze
would come again
like the spring
in open portals
so far, yet so near
shadows thaw

The seasons born
unto four winds
speaking secrets
whispered the ancients
The dark blew in
door ajar

The wisdom spoke
of the window of time
The knowledge and power
was the light
shining through the night
left the door ajar
