Travel the Astral

I dream of tomorrow
these mountains, these streams
they look the same
but they are different
in a different place
from the ones I’ve seen
but I know they are not
I know they are a dream
and a reality
I travel the astral

I had spent an eternity
in this consciousness
which couldn’t be seen
not from this mortal place
of skin and bones
of blood and hearts beating
I had spent an eternity
trying to escape
and so I sleep, I dream
I dream of dreaming

This consciousness, this being
which couldn’t be seen
not from this mortal body
as I travel in the astral
These paths are all the same
yet somehow different
The highway men grin
and look away
pointing towards a distance
that looked the same

I had been somewhere else
and so we sleep
searching for one another
We’ve been apart
so long we’ve needed love
so many times we’ve been deserted
and an ocean once flowed here
and a mountain range stood
and they were fossils
and we were dust

Just us asleep dreaming
traveling through the astral
and I come to you
and we dream of things
we cannot see, we cannot hold
touch the ground
nor one another
and I see you sleeping
and you see me dreaming
only the sky holds us

These mountains, these streams
they look the same
yet they are different
The stars are suns
The planets are not earth
but inviting to our thoughts
We envision them
they look the same
yet they are different
and we travel the astral

We try and remember
all of them
just so we can sleep again
just to dream
of our beginnings
of our endings
and we carry death
and our dust shall return
to this earth
but our spirits travel the astral
