Mama said, " Just cause I birthed you, don't mean I gotta love you!"
You could never love me and I didn't know why,
You were always so cruel, hurt me and made me cry.
I was never able to please you or make you proud,
My hurt made me cry, but never out loud.
You always unraveled me, made me come undone,
Watching me disintegrate, was your greatest fun.
You have now passed away, but your memory still causes me pain,
You just threw me away, calling me stupid and insane.
I always tried to win your love, I did really try,
You left the world hating me and I always wondered why.

Sad you had to experience this, and that the pain be with you forever.
Hang tuff.

this poem breaks my heart to know that someone of your beautiful nature ( or any victim of abuse at that matter) had to endure such harshness, love ya pa, your inner goldenness shines through always..mike
It was her shame, her loss. She had no idea how the beautiful daughter she had birthed really was. Her cruelty and your pain at not having a mother has made you understand such hurt and made you a mother to many motherless ones SC.
