I really don't understand why, but I am glad there is you and me

Teach me to love, show me the way,
Hold my hand least I go astray.
Love has always slapped my face,
Broke my heart and vanished without a trace.
Love was always a painful experience, full of hurt,
Once it was expressed, it was an excuse to treat me like dirt.
Love has always been hard on me,
So I don't want it, I want it to leave me be.
Suddenly you came along from out of the blue,
With gentle patience, you taught me to trust you,
Why you care for me, I haven't a clue,
I am just amazed, because you do.
What causes this mutual affection?
Why do we have this heart connection?
You can read my mind and heart,
You know when I am hurting, though we are miles apart.
I soon get a call and your concerned voice asks," Are you okay?"
Then with sympathy you listen to what I have to say.
I almost believe in love, I am almost there,
You have changed my outlook because you care.

Maybe, Love is a lesson we never really fully learn, or understand.
Part of our reason for existence,to reach for something greater than ourselves,I guess these are questions your poem has raised in me.
I think this is for greater minds than mine.
Your poem has again fueled my thought process.nice write

I believe there is someone for everyone in life, Our mistake is we jump at the first sign of love which may only be the signs that someone cares instead of taking our time for the real love to come along and that is why we get hurt, I have been there too and have learnt a lot from it. Wishing you love and happiness.

Some may find a magnet in you they are drawn to - Mystery holds much & they need what is pulling them - There can be thousands of reasons one wants to leave OR can't handle your appease <>OR what one PERSON represents the other can't handle - But intrigued with trying -But it was needed & on their way for more learning - And may never stay anywhere - Different itineraries to evolve without judgment - Without harm in any form - Let it all blossom for what you truly adorn - {understandable -heart felt write}-love{ <>}Ted

Oh my, I've had bad luck with love myself..
The big problem with love, and what i think
causes our hurt is the commitment to each other.
when the commitment is broken, we hurt
I think we should love and be in love, but don't
commit.
Don't promise anything. I know i sound off the wall,
but me don't give a poot.
Hugs......and stuff...maybe a little ruff...
