We all have been friends and have shared many things, but now I love her husband and he loves me back.
His heart calls to mine and my heart flutters like a bird inside of me,
But I must ignore his call, for I belong to another and I'm not free.
His eyes caress me and I tingle from head to toe,
His accidental touch, makes me tremble, I want him so.
We both made promises to others, promises we need to keep,
A promise doesn't stop my yearning, or stop my heart's leap.
We are thrown together constantly, as couples we are friends,
We are perfect matches, our lives truly blend.
Once we stole a kiss in the dark,
A quick moment of weakness, that sadly left it's mark.
One taste of forbidden fruit left a taste so sweet,
The memory lies behind our eyes, whenever we meet.
When she kisses him, I close my eyes, living vicariously,
In my mind, it is me he's kissing, I become lost in fantasy.
I must keep reminding myself to ignore his heart's call,
I must stay focused, walk the path, lest I slip and fall.
Ah SC I have to agree with Walt and Felix,, we have all felt this at sometime in our lives, and we know too well it can never be, so we hide the feelings of hurt deep inside our hearts locked away for us to know of. I had done two writings in the past One is called "My love is for another man" and the other is called "Our love can never be". written on this topic, Great write.

You have captured the pain and yearning of illicit love so well SC, the kind of love we all have felt I am sure at one time in our lifes or another. Very well written and expressed as honesty dictates.
Sc this is a very good tale of how sometimes we realize things should be swithched, but can't be. The remembrance and the guilt of feelings forbidden. This is so very touching.
