Internet's Masquerade Ball

Who is really lurking behind that computer screen?

We all dance at the Internet's Masquerade Ball,
Where freedom is granted to all.
It is where your soul may waltz with a stranger,
Where emotions run high and hearts are in constant danger.
Where our souls dance cheek to cheek,
It is always a constant game of hide and seek.
Where words seduce and looks don't count,
We let the words caress and let our desire mount.
Forbidden fruit's lure is so very sweet,
The lonely heart is starving and wants to eat.
Who do we really waltz with, woman or man?
What we really want is for someone to care and understand.
The internet, where passionate unions seem to fall apart,
Where sight unseen renders a broken heart.
None of us are immuned,
We all get caught up in love's tune.
We waltz aimlessly through time and space,
While we adore an unseen face.
Our lover is shrouded in mist,
While we ache for an embrace or a kiss.
Words are cold comfort while we lie in a cold, lonely bed,
We always have the fear that we are being mislead.
The music now has begun anew,
Shall you chose a dance partner to waltz again, it's up to you.

Music: Blinded By Science

Am I who I think I am, only you can tell me. The photo on my den is what the camera saw. Let us continue in our cyber neurosis, who knows.

This is right on and describes the intricacies of cyber romance so well, there are few rules unfortunatley and no one to enforce them so my advice to anyone who dabbles in this romantic ball park is to insist on a video camera conversation. Pictures can be faked live feed can not. Big hugs Jen,
