Once Sheltered In My Love

A fantasy is sometimes much better than a reality. I have returned, sadder, but much wiser.

For months he had called me daily,
He told me of his pain and daily life.
He told me he adored my voice, it was soft, childlike with a Southern Accent.
Sometimes he would call many times a day, saying he was hooked on my voice,
Saying it was his lifeline when the world turned mean.
I learned to know him through and through,
I could always know by the tone of his voice when he was troubled.
He asked to meet me face to face and I made his request a reality.
His life has always been a total wreck,
His childhood was troubled and now he was dealt another blow when his wife left him.
Troubled, sad and so in need of Tender Loving Care, I wanted to shelter him in my arms.
He had just receieved another destroying blow from life, as he came to me and I welcomed him into my arms.
He entered my safe provided haven encased in a depressing, angry black cloud.
I did my best to comfort him, but he remained angry, morose and then finally cruel.
He was so angry at the world, but the world didn't care about his pain and anger, so he took his wrath out on me, the only one that did truly care.
My aqua eyes could see through him, stripping him bare and truly frightening him, for he had no place to hide.
I exposed the troubled, sad, angry little boy that masqueraded in a man's body.
He used his anger as a dagger to impale my heart,
Although he wounded me so badly, I still reached out to him and held him when he cried, we both knew it would be the last time.
He had finally made me wave the white flag of surrender, I had given up on him.
I had brought him gifts to try and make him happy, I gave them to him, telling him good-bye forever.
He took my gifts like he had sucked out my life force in the past, greedily without a backward glace, leaving me in a cloud of dust and a world of pain.
I knew he would someday rue the day he forced me to give up on him,
For the shelter of my love and soft soothing voice were lost to him forever.
Now he would deal with life alone, without love or care,
But he would always be haunted by caring, aqua eyes.

STay Positive and seep in the positive, you have WON! You're not pulled down, as the spirit sounds, within him. He must stay strong and not find it within anyone else around! He will if he searches and believes!

When someone hurt anyone I care for, they hurt me, and when I am wounded I don't cry but like a raging bull I will charge onto the culprit to impale his black heart with the meanest horns there is.

It is a sad time, when one gives and gives and get ugliness in return. Yes, he will rue the day you gave up on him. When he's truly alone, he will wish that .... but too late. We have to move on with our life, or perish by trying to keep them as part of our life. I know this one first-hand. Sadly, when he died, he died alone - literally and figuratively.

God bless you. Kathy

His loss...NOT yours, believe me. You cannot be someones bouncing board when they are willing to take advantage of that loving and giving nature you possess. Walk away with only the positive and release the bad energy of "what went wrong" and end it knowing that you are worth way more than he should have received. His way of dealing with the bad breaks he received in life is never justifiable. Live well and prosper knowing you are who you are and willing to give love 100% without fear.

As I sit here with the kleenex box nearby,
I wonder why.
When we hurt, we spurn the very thing we need most.
Tender loving arms and a gentle soul to calm our fears and tears.
The reality of this makes me sad.
A promise of hope has been lost forever.....
Why do we continue to punish ourselves?
Are we stupid?
The answer to that is yes, most of us men are.

The regrets that people feel after they lose what is most precious to them is real and cannot be erased. I know, the girl I once loved with all my heart left me for money...15 years later she divorced and asked if it was too late for us...it was.

You did all you could, and gave more than you should, but in your heart you knew you did the best you could do and what more can anyone ask for?

Such a tragic loss for him; at times, we simply do not know how good we've got it until it is all gone. Thank you, SC. Love and best wishes,
