When you realize that nothing will ever be the same.

When insomina comes at the end of the day,
It is for the Sandman's touch I pray.
I ask," Please sprinkle the soothing sand,
" To these weary eyes and wounded heart that doesn't understand".
Why your pillow no longer holds your head,
Why I sleep alone in this king-sized bed.
I crave sleep, slices of death,
A comatose state and even breath.
Pills help to ease the pain,
But dawn finally comes and the Hell remains.
You have just vanished it seems,
But daily you come and haunt awake and dreams.
What the Hell am I suppose to do?
With this desolate life that doesn't have you.
I have heard that you are now some other woman's man.
That you have found Life's Oyster and have pearl in hand.
I must admit that I am wounded and so very weak,
So escape through, pills, booze and sleep is what I seek.
For in dreams you are once again mine,
In dreams I can leave a painful reality behind.
In the purple mist of pills and drink,
I am oblivious and don't have to think.
I ask Death's Angel to come to me every night,
For I wish not to live and I am weary of the fight.

Lonliness is a sad thing indeed.
Maybe Ed will let you borrow one of his furry critters,
they don't talk, but they listen mighty good.

A sad tale, SC, and beautifully written. And I got to believe
that your talented pen will find a way to shine some light in
the dark corners that haunt the woman of whom you write. -gene.

There is a lot of pain in this one and though it is hauntingly beautiful I hope it is not of you or the present, for we need your laughter and smiles ringing through our den for along time to come.
