Forever is just one heartbeat from good-bye

He whispered," Forever", against my lips,
As he worked magic with gentle fingertips.
My aroused body screamed, " Viva Forever", as it was consumed,
Passion sizzled and blazed, beneath a golden liar's moon.
His ardent lips burned my ivory skin,
Kisses of fire ignited my desire, again and again.
I never questioned forever as measured time,
I was caught up in love's spell, paradise was mine.
He was the conductor of runaway feelings,
On his runaway train, he kept my emotions reeling.
I was soon derailed and flung from the track,
Mangled, destroyed and no way of coming back.
He devoured my body, took without giving,
Sucked me dry, left me barely living.
Realizing forever can pass in the blinking of an eye,
Just a heartbeat from an eternal good-bye.

You have put so much feeling and emotion into this, and I like the way in which you've written it. We can't help but feel the pain and sadness.

Wow, so much heartache and disappointment in this piece, yet you still leave just a twinkle of hope for the future...

Be always safe,

The pain is heightened here for the reader, SC, because of the sheer quality of your expression, the craft in the writing.

SC, this work of hurt is also one of polished writing technique.
You're so good at this, though I wish for you happier times, perhaps we should dub you the Poet of Pain. -gene.

The sad reality of life SC is that there are not really too many happily ever afters, feelings change, love dies, new loves form, temptations arise...
Feelings get hurt and hearts get broken. All we can do is learn from these experiences and once the heart heals move on, for life without that love is not living but existing. I feel your pain coming through on this one...

Hi, S.C
What a touching piece combining all of our heartfelt emotions. Your writing displays that you have a heart which is easily hurt--this is a compliment as there are many people that simply don't feel!

Beautiful write, Stuart (downunder)

S.C.,

Why isn't forever sacred anymore? So sad when words spoke have no meaning and are only said for selfish reasons. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
