My Life Canvas holds a portrait done in abstract

Guarded, cryptic verse, splashed on a page,
Coded cries for help, while an inner war is waged.
Each day, life's test I fail,
My breath comes in gasps, with no safe place to exhale.
My Life Canvas holds an abstract portrait, while I hide,
The wounded entity living in a shell, lost inside.
There is no one to trust with the real me,
I am invisible, nothing anyone can really see.
With no safe haven to call my home,
I am marooned on the isle of me, truly alone.
Splashed abstract colors, fleeting glimpses of a lost woman child,
A true nomad, I have wandered for many a mile.
A rose bud, never allowed to open and bloom,
Starved for sunlight, living in the shadowy gloom.
Some may boast that they know me quite well,
That I am an open book, with nothing left to tell.
What they have seen is a projected image, nothing but mist,
For the real me was never born, never lived and just doesn't exist.

Very very cool.

So complex and so simple.

A lettle red herring here and there.

Some may actually see you.

If I ever get marooned on an island. I would like it to be yours.

Take care beautiful person.

Tony

I love this. I'm looking at abstract shards, I stand back and squint... I think I can make out a portrait. Looks kind of like a dove with a broken wing. But it's got other facets. I lean in... scratch and sniff haha. Did I mention I LOVE this poem?

SC we do look forward to your writes as you are abstract, you are distance close by in a dark cloud of the bright sky. You are romantic, soft, hard shelled, passionate SC that we love. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice albeit a little sad write, for to not have lived and shown that other self is a slow death that lingers always on the border of life and loving. Excellant lines and images here SC

Fantastic first words, "my life canvas hold a portrait done in abstract" no fave lift there, or botox, or layers and layers of femininef war paint, just a clean face swowing honesty.
Leonardo da Vinci, eat your heart!

You are sooooo very talent and creative. This poem says volume and is truth to many of us. How many of us are aimlessly wandering, waiting for that burst of sunlight to recognize us and be smiling upon us?...until then, we are just as your poem described.

I love this a lot!

Ah, Sweet Comfort, what an incredible write. In truth, how
much of us does anyone know? How much do we know of us? Is
we is or is we ain't? Or as the Bard put it, to be or not.
-gene.
