Mama lamented," Why was I cursed with this crazy child?" While The Twilight Child, hid from her, in a self-made world in her own mind.
Mama deemed her crazy, something she couldn't understand,
While Twilight Child hid from Mama, safe in Neverland.
Twilight Child, in her twilight haze, hears threats about The Cracker Farm,
Her aqua eyes just stare ahead, but she is filled with alarm.
What is really normal, what is really sane?
Twilight Child is on a magic carpet ride, flying above her pain.
Mind travel, gives solace to Twilight Child,
She is a frequent flyer, she has traveled many miles.
The Cracker Farm is always a threat away,
Where drooling lost souls, quiet insane, are made to stay.
Mama says that poetry is nonsence and writers are crazy,
They are silly hearts, dreamers and so lazy.
Mama never gave encouragement or tried to understand,
While Twilight Child silently screamed and endured slaps from Mama's cruel hand.
Twilight Child isn't really crazy, she's a poet you see,
Mama please ignore her existence and just leave her be!
If you find her useless and unworthy, just move on and leave her behind,
She is happy to dwell in her self-made world, safe inside her mind.
Twilight child KNOWS where it's AT!
Her star shines bright and may bring many to realization!
Mothers like this shouldn't exist! Their is no need to call them Mothers! Mothers are nurturing... and so much more...

There are always people like mama to label and condemn others to make themselves feel superior; to paint over the truth.

Sorry but I think Mama has a major problem as I feel every poet writes and shares from their heart. Thank you SC for another heart touching write. Great as usual.
How tragically sad! I believe every creature on earth was created by God and has a divine purpose. I think it's simply unconscionable to mistreat any of God's creations.
And as to a Twilight Child, many enlightened families, including those of medical doctors, consider a Twilight Child a special responsbility and rewarding challenge that they as parents have been entrusted to care for and love. Most families say the Twilight Child has made them better parents and given as much or more back to them in love and enlightenment as they have received in care and love.

This is an amazing capture of autism. Unsure if that was where you headed with this writing, but you know the Twilight children, as you call them, are the most interesting and loving persons I have ever met. This one is going in my library!
