We are the immigrants who came from far away
We came from many places to spread a lighting ray
We want to amalgamate your and our culture
For the sake of our and your children’s future
We are aware of your suffering, and generosity
We did not come to this land out of curiosity
But out of our own will our destiny to fulfill
By building and contributing according to our skill.
Those who come in the way you have described will be an asset to America. Many have come with such intentions through the years, and have contributed to the strength and beauty of American life.
Emile - Our country especially is made up of immigrants. To me that's the beauty of our country ideally. That it is an experiment of ideas and the human spirit, not of one race or religion. - David
Sadly, there are those in our past, and in today's world as well, that forget that immigrants have a lighting ray to share...
Some immigrants forget it too...

I so admire your words and thoughts in your poem, Emile. Not many of us would be here in the U.S. if it were not for our immigration heritage. I just want the new immigrants to be respectful of past immigrants and enter legally...this would be proof of their intent.

I like your name, it sounds like my Mom's (Emilie)- your poem is very nicely structured in verse and rhyme, and the message conveyed timely, truthful, and full of hope. My family (parents and siblings) are all productive immigrants in Australia and have assimilated in that nation's culture. Though migration splits some
families, it still contributes to a nation's economy, no matter how small.
Yes, how true- immigrants have changed the face of this country in so many ways, and your pride shows here.

I like this very much. I think that most of the western world are immigrants anyway, so we should all appreciate the value of diversity through harmony.
This could apply today as it could hundreds of years ago. After all, everyone in America has roots in some other country (except the Native American) Wonderfully written.
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
