This is about my very first surgery, a kind of humorous yet faithful poem in a way.
Dr. Dooley was our Pediatrician.
All I remember is a brief flash of being on the gurney and having Dr. Dooley pull out my stitches, "Down there", and it hurt like "Heck", so I kicked as hard as I could! Well, just read the poem....
I was very young, Momma said, when the doctor pulled the tumor out for I was only 2-3 yrs old!
The tumor was benign, Praise the Lord! The funny part, looking back now but at the time was very scary, was when I was so scared I Kicked Dr. Dooley right in the head! While he was taking out my stitches, no less! He remarked, to Momma later, "You have got a strong girl there!" Momma just smiled!
Dr. Dooley died in a tragic accident in 1987.
Written a very long time ago, in May of 1988, after High School graduation, just now finding it.Belongs to me, Rebecca (Becca) Estelle Henry.
