Continuing to Play the.....

How I am signing up to take Class Piano next semester as a REVIEW of what I have learned from ages 10 - 17 yrs old while playing the piano during High school. I am in early 30's now and am embarking on a second career. It is Music Therapy.

My mind escapes
to a different level
of thinking and relaxing
when I play music.

The music,reading it and
answering questions about it
in class come naturally with little thinking.

It is a part of me,
the music.

When I play the piano
right now,
Chords play, and the
Bass clef rumbles,
Up the Major scale I go!

Practice, Practice, Practice
I must do every day!

The Minor scales are really hard!

My Ear is becoming more "In tune" since I have started my class. I am grateful for my Professor, Margaret Chisholm!

I admire anyone who can play the piano! My stubby little fingers could never reach the keys properly. But I am a wiz with chopsticks.

Go for it, Becca. I went to collage as a first time freshman at 36. I know what you mean about music, I write to classical music all the time. It helps me think and keep a rhymatic flow to my writing.

Oh Becca, music is the greatest therapy in the world. I write lyrics, but I sorely miss not being able to write music. Without that ability I can never be the great song writer I yearn to be. The struggle to be a musician is hard or to write music is hard, but it is well worth it. No matter where you are in your journey, pursue it with fervor and reap the rewards it offers. Bill

Wonderful Becca! Nothing compares to music! I learned to play piano from my dad, but he played by ear, and so did I. When my son took lessons I learned to read music, but I never followed through to learn it well. I have a piano keyboard which gives me much pleasure, I play every day;-).

I understand this totally, Becca! I've played piano since I was three, although stifled into remaining at an intermediate level. I remember practicing, practicing, practicing, any music. On the piano, my trumpet, my guitar, the saxophone, etc. Music truly is a healer. Thank you for sharing this....

Bear
