The reflection of red and white
Closing my sad, teary eyes
Wishing with all my might
Loud jingling sound outside
Snowflakes are now falling
Take me with arms open wide
Slobber froth on that glass
Pacing frantically back and forth
Please don’t walk on past
A small space I now occupy
All alone, maybe temporarily
So let me catch your lovely eye
Give me a necklace of bright red
Dreaming of a yard to roam in
A soft and fluffy night time bed
A name tag and a jingle sound
Adding delight to this season
Wagging tail, leaps and bounds
Wearing it, I will be so very proud
Gosh hope that will be me
Don’t worry; it will not jingle too loud
Better than any plastic toy
Providing unconditional love
Knowing I will bring so much joy
Feeling that approaching doom
Praying for a wonderful family
So please take me home soon
This holiday season adopt a pet. Please be responsible and dedicated enough to care and love your pet for years to come, as this is a life-long commitment for the pet. Animals bring so much joy to the world.
Dedicated to our family of rescued animals. Snowball the cat, adopted a few years ago from a pet store, and truly thinks he is a dog. Ashley the cat, went to heaven last year, adopted from another household, her eyes would light up when you said her name. Ashley II the cat, rescued last year from a trash dumpster in NJ, loves to sleep and eat that is about all. Patches the dog, adopted in FL from an organization geared towards the elderly and pets, loves to chase birds. Coco the dog, went to heaven in April 2007, adopted from another household, loved to give lots of kisses. Jeffrey the bird, went to heaven in 2001, adopted from another owner, Jeffrey loved to recite profanity even in his final hours.
Be safe,
Karen

Amen. :) Pets are a great gift, if the recipient will be responsible to take care of it. Too many animals are given as presents, only to wind up at the local shelter weeks/months later, when they've lost their "cuteness" or grown up. Well done, though.

This has a sweet sentiment in it; I can almost see that little ball of fur (dog or cat or whatever) reaching out with a curious paw for someone to love them. An endearing write!
Blessings ...
