"Living In The Moment"

by Amber "V" Moonstone   8/31/08

Have you ever just let life move through you?
Just relishing in the moments of your life,
Letting go of control and abandon rigidness.

Have no expectations,
enjoy each moment for what it is,
surrender to feeling in the moment.

The first thing you need to do is,
to give yourself permission to let go.
Once you do this, all possibilites open up.

When letting go of our hold on ourselves,
it gives us the freedom and energy
to embrace all that is new and meaningful.

When you take a walk next time,
consciously feel each step on the ground,
smell the air, feel the wind and savor the moment.

Look at a tree and it's amazing power
will fill you with energy to sustain your day,
filling you with strength and vision.

When you smell a flower,
really take in it's scent,
realize just how simple and complex it is.

Walk along the shoreline,
just far enough away, so that the waves
can kiss your feet with healing magic.

Tenderly touch a pet,
feel their response,
know that you can give love.

Kiss your child,
and realize just what a miracle
they really are to you.

Look at your aging parents,
find time to be with them,
knowing that you may not have much time left.

Fill your world with positive thoughts,
Stand proud to be YOU,
and always remember to live in the moment.

author's notes: I want to live in the moment, I wish you to live in the moment and live your life to the fullest.

peace, love, and light,
Amber "V" Moonstone

Hi Amber, sometimes I would go to a place in the city where I can see views of the cityskyline, watch the water crash onto the rocks, feel the win hug my body like a blanket, etc. Its a park and I always take the time out to smell the roses so to speak. The way that I treat my life is that I always treat everyday like it is my birthday.Even though I don't have a job or lots of money or even my own place, the one thing that I have is my life.Despite some negativity from my own family members,I will continue to always have a smile on my face and enjoy every second, minute, hour and day that I have on this earth and maintain my beautiful spirit that makes me who I am.

Tomorrow is the future, but live for right now.I enjoy reading this poem.In a world full of negativity, wars,a messed up economy, this poem is a breath of fresh air.take care

Very thought provoking, Amber. This, to me, is how our Creator wants us to live; to enjoy all aspects of life, to listen to the sounds and really see the earths beauty, to give the love in hearts to our family. I have two grandchildren and I spend every moment that I can with them, encouraging them to explore and letting them learn about the world they live in. Thank you for the reminder!

joy & peace to you!

What "this world needs now" -- is: your poem! No-one including myself could say it better. I do this often, yet like everyone fall "out of that TRUE consciousness" at times... but on Friday, after a month inland(! auugh!) I finally got the 70 miles to the beach to surf!
I was rusty, my back hurt but NOTHING does it better for me then surfing to put me "in the moment" (the beach in general)
Then even the long ride back inland was tolerable...
Later, michael

Dear Amber, I hope you know what you just touched. The stream of love went through you, the powerful stream that every human being aspires to. It is the holy stream of love that passes through the entire universe, everyone calls it differently. If you add to it a prayer, in the moment of the passing of the stream, you will understand much more about life. Many reach this stream through prayer, some in special places, but always close eyes and let the stream conquer you without any resistance. Love and blessing Emile

Nice work Amber...the capturing of the very essence of life is where many of us miss the journey of which we are on....to grasp life and find the very moments, the touch of hidden mystery which is within each and every particle of our surroundings....nice thoughts to share and nice work on expressing your view of life....

Friday we took our two four year old granddaughers for an overnight trip to a hotel with pool and water slide, and then to a zoo. We watched and listened to these two littl girls and could see and smile not only at what they were today but could actually see what they would be tomorrow. We are creating memories as strong as and yes in some cases even stronger than we did with our own children and it is a great feeling to know that.
