“I Weep”

By Amber “V” Moonstone   11/11/08

I Weep for the lost Native American culture

I Weep for the boys that never became braves
I Weep for the girls that never gave birth

I weep for the senseless slaughter of peaceful people

I weep for the souls of all men that only saw battle

I weep for the countless nights that the squaws were alone

I weep for the Chief of 30 Nations when his daughter was kidnapped

I weep for that daughter that died on foreign soil at a young age

I weep for the son of that daughter that never knew his mother’s love

I weep for all mankind, for his faults, his, inequities and his ignorance

I weep for forgiveness of all souls that left prematurely

I weep for the Great Spirit’s unheard words

I weep for the abuse of Mother Nature’s natural resources

I weep for Mother Nature’s innocent creatures

I weep for victims of crime and unjust punishment

I weep for Your soul to be cleansed and rejuvenated

I weep for all people to live in harmony and peace

I weep for all people to remember what happened to our Native Americans

So long ago, and to never forget what they have lost!

It's something truly to weep over the loss of. Their culture respected the land and it beauty and sought not to disturb or destroy it. Wonderful write.

Amber, your words should be written in large bold letters across
the nation...should be sung to the beat of your warm heart. -gene.

What a wondeful poem for the Native people. Such cruelty traces their past. Always good to remember that others have suffered and still live with such courage as they do.

Amber if we have any Native American blood or collective consciousness we do remember and we still weep. A very profound and emotive tribute to a great people who would not have gotten our world into such a dangerous state.

They have killed all the braves by ambush, starvation and false promises that they knew will never be honored, but in every breeze, in every drop of rain, in every coyote and every eagle, in every strand of grass...the spirit of the 100 Nations will survive, and the head of the Sioux will be hold high, proudly, as it should be.
