May Day Pirate

May Day
Beach Day
Windy Air
Having No Care
Searching the horizon
capturing a glimse
of what appears to be
a pirate ship at sea.
I imagine a young maiden
at the mercy of a pirate
a hostage at sea,
wanting only to flee.
Would he kiss her gently,
or press her firmly
against the ship's hard wall,
and would she surrender to it all.
Would she fight like a tigress
just to get his dander going
and would they make passionate love
with the moon and starlight above.
Would he secretly love her
But never tell her so,
and would she fight
to keep her honor tight.
Could they dare to fall in love,
and part only by death,
traditional life he does shrug
or do they just have a farewell hug?
Do they part
before it gets too hot,
for a pirate's life is wild and free,
no room for love or family.
Judgement calls on them,
wanderlust prevails,
as the pirate heads out to sea,
leaving another maiden free!
Reality sets me back to now,
As I watch the ship move out of sight,
Oh what an adventure I enjoyed today
on this lovely May first day!
