I've been looking for something
something I'm definitely lacking
I've been looking for so long
A place I can say I belong
Looking for a good laugh
not for any old riff-raff
Looking for someone to confide
someone who will coincide
been so alone these last two years
isn't there anyone to ease my fears
My poor husband doesn't understand
Why I'm not content in just his hand
I tell him what it comes down to in the end
Is that I need the comfort of a friend
He's my best friend but I need a confidant
Someone who isn't the one I want
to share my bed at night . . . Isn't that alright
What I need in the very end
is I need an ordinary friend
Someone close to my age
with life on the same page
when life takes an unexpected bend
I need the reassurance of a friend
So what I am wondering in the end
Is would you like to be my Friend?
