I found this one in my old files today. I don't remember when I did this or where. I must have been on cloud ten that day. It didn't even have a title; I gave it one just now. Hope you enjoy and God bless.
Lord, do not let the ways of man,
Influence just who we are;
Guide us with Your most loving heart,
Show us God’s way from afar.
Man has become an awful lot,
Following the ways of Satan;
Relishing in pride and ego,
In unholy ways we're delving.
Our world is on the path to hell,
Too few of us will make it home;
Even families are not close,
And too many suffer alone.
This is not the way that You preached,
When You walked with us on the earth;
Many have forgotten Your lessons,
Far too many know not Your worth.
Lord, won't You have mercy on us,
There are many who really try;
And yet the most heart wrenching thing,
Is when I see all the children cry.
For they are the most innocent,
And by far the most beautiful;
Please my Lord, protect them from us,
For them I would give up my soul.
Not one child should ever be hurt,
By the evil ways of mankind;
The lambs of the earth must be saved,
A much better way we must find.

Your words are eleoquent. Truth and wisdom are writtn into the poem. Much of mankind has gone astray.. Family values and trdtions are being lost by the way side.. The children suffer so much.. I worry about the future of all of us......WELL SAID!......M
Too many families don't do much together, don't even sit down to eat at their table together. We are all so busy going here and there don't take time for our own people. Everyone seems to want to show off to others and forget to give their families time or leave time to share thoughts with them. In olden days the Father insisted table talk around the table to talk out days troubles. Not today though. Not all, but only some are like this. The good ones that believe in God do alright by him.
Paul again you have touched my heart. If all could get on their knees and ask for God's help what a difference it could make. thank you for sharing your words Paul.
Paul, this is heart wrenching and makes one stop and wonder about the bad things going on in the world today. Many follow satan on the path toward hell. Let's hope a miracle happens and all gets on the right track before it is too late. A great inspirational write.
What a wonderful and thought provoking write my friend. It does seem that we are living a selfish world today, where many are fixated on self with little thought for others and God is often put on the back burner. Our children suffer at the hands of adults more now than ever before, child abuse is continually on the rise, as a teacher it isn't uncommon to have numerous children in my class each year whom suffer abuse because of parents, where usually drugs are involved...sad so sad...well expressed and touching write, glad you found it and posted it my friend!
