Throughout history, nations that relied on money as their Gross National Product, have failed their people economically. But it is really "we the people" who are the responsible ones who have allowed this to happen. By not supporting our own workers, we inevitably caused our own demise. Our leaders allowed it but we caused it. May God bless America again and have mercy on us all.
The belief was that we could survive, On a financial economy; But again, that has been proven wrong, As it has throughout all history.
A nation that relies on money, Produced by a group of greedy men; Is doomed to fail as time marches on, It has happened time and time again.
For without manufacturing, We produce nothing to survive; Simply slaves to money changers, And we believed in all their lies.
We have become such lazy fools, Reliant on those who create; Products that used to be made here, And now we have sealed our own fate.
Our factories are now empty, Along with our saving’s accounts; All because we have chosen greed, Quite the hill that we must surmount !
The hand writing is on the wall, And the small print is very fine; America is fixing to fall, We are now living on borrowed time.
And now it is simple survival, That’s become the American dream; Such a sad time in our history, When was it we lost our self esteem?
“I’m too good to work in a factory,
And I deserve so much better than that; Why should I even work up a sweat? I just want to be a rich, fat cat.”
Guess what? Life doesn’t work that way, And the proof is in the pudding; Everyone has a job to do, Or we ALL just become NOTHING !
Yu are right on with the words in this poetry. It makes one thinks and we know we are masking up the economy and playing around with it. It won't work the way we are doing things now, changed have to be made.
So much truth in your words Paul, so sad but Greed has taken over and is slowly destroying what should have been. Believe me it is the same here in Canada, Greed has taken over the world. Thank you for sharing.
These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
