POETS at Work - Part II

CHANGES? For who?
PROMISES FORGOTTEN ONCE AGAIN !

For years they have proven to us,
Politicians can’t get the job done;
So why don’t we all take it over,
Working together, it’ll be fun.

Obama promised us changes,
Thus far, none of them have been good;
Power is what fills the man's mind,
His heart is simply made of wood.

With pens in hand and together,
We could change our land for the best;
What do you say we do just that,
Can we offer anything less?

Replace our leaders with poets,
We have the right philosophies;
We’ll do the will of the people,
Not just what the powerful please.

The time is right, so let us unite,
Form a new party in government;
Show every one once and for all,
What equality should really have meant.

Our Mission Statement quite simple,
Written two hundred years ago;
Brushed aside by power and greed,
Some tried to destroy the ways we know.

Make everyone’s troubles less,
Our freedoms greater than before;
Let nothing but true honesty,
Ever cross the seas to our shores.

We must restore our economy,
A simple matter of fair trade;
We must ban imported products,
Put an end to this sad charade.

Allow not a person to enter,
‘til they agree to follow our laws;
One chance to live as a free man,
Or go back to where they were before.

What do you say we just do it?
With pens in hand let’s march as one;
Make freedom what it should have been,
Like our forefathers had begun.

Write on Paul, a Poet's Party indeed, and complete with the right
ideals and principles, mission statement and purpose - break down bureaucracy with the pen! "With pens in hand let's march as one"
is the call of the times. Go.
