July Fourth is to celebrate,
Independence from tyranny;
Thinking of those who paid the price,
To give us freedom and liberty.

They paid the greatest sacrifice,
To grant us the right to live free;
Citizens as well as soldiers,
Battled evil for you and me.

So, let's not sit on our laurels,
Don't let them steal freedom from us;
Our Declaration says, "REBEL,"
If our leaders we cannot trust.

Take a moment and read below,
The true meaning that is so real;
On July Fourth, Seventeen Seventy Six,
Before ALL of our freedoms they steal.

"That whenever any form of government,
Becomes destructive of these ends;
It is the RIGHT (and) DUTY of the people,
To abolish it and institute a new government,

"Laying its foundation on such principles,
And organizing its powers in such form;
As to them shall seem most likely,
To effect their safety and happiness.

"Prudence, indeed, will dictate,
That governments long established;
Should not be changed for transient causes,
And accordingly all experience hath shewn;

"That mankind are more disposed to suffer,
While evils are sufferable;
Than to right themselves by abolishing,
The forms to which they are accustomed.

"But when a train of abuses and usurpations,
Pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design;
To reduce the people under despotism,
It is their right (and) duty to throw off such government."

Friends, we are getting so close to this,
To living again under tyranny;
Our leaders are way out of control,
Taking away our right to live free.

I served my country dutifully,
Without ever thinking of myself;
I did what I did for my people,
Now our people need serious help!

Will it take another revolution,
To right all the wrongs we're going through?
Our future is really in our hands,
Our country's fathers knew what to do.

They raised their voices and said, "NO MORE,"
Then picked up their arms and they fought back;
That's what our founders told us to do,
But, I don't think we're up to that task.

We have become too complacent,
We've forgotten how to be bold;
We'd rather sit back and suffer,
We have no courage in our souls.

So, each state takes our freedoms away,
Then, Washington simply takes some more;
Power has shifted from the people,
As LIBERTY dies behind closed doors.
