I still keep in touch with many of our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan and other hot spots throughout the world. This poetic story is a true reflection of how most of our men and women feel about the reasons we are there. Yes, my friends, the reason is clear.
We have no need to contemplate,
About why we are over here;
We don't need to think it over,
All of the reasons are quite clear.
To those who do not understand,
What true love is really about;
It has to do with sacrifice,
So never let there be a doubt.
Remember, we're all volunteers,
Simple troops doing what we can;
T'was the Lord who called upon us,
To help Him with His sacred plan.
We'd like there to be peace on earth,
But the devil stands in the way;
If you'd really like to help out,
Turn your face to our Lord and pray.
No, we don't really want to fight,
But, our duty we won't deny;
Those who slaughter the innocent,
Have reason to fear for their lives.
We're here to end all the terror,
That we see in the children's eyes;
To put an end to their sleepness nights,
To give them some hope when hunger cries.
You say that we don't need this war,
That we should turn and walk away?
My friends, wake up and remember,
What happened on that September day.
We swore an oath to LIBERTY,
A solemn oath we freely gave;
No, we simply can't walk away,
Love and freedom we're here to save.

I pray for our brave men and women in uniform every day. To not pray would be foolhardy. I also pray for the safety of our country and even our leaders, even though I can't stand Obama, but like anyone else, he needs prayer, too. Beautiful tribute, Paul; God bless you! *SALUTE*
