Fire can be a wondrous thing
It can warm and cook and destroy
Has a mesmerizing effect
On adults, little girls and boys

Watch the flames as they lick at wood
Providing us much needed heat
Watch as it cooks food on our stoves
Killing the germs that dwell in meat

And fire can create new life
As was told in the days of old
It carries the Holy Spirit
Right to the center of our souls

Bringing hope of eternal life
To a world that has gone astray
A fresh chance for our salvation
When to The Savior we do pray

But beware of the evil flame
The harm it does can be so dire
Eternal suffering and pain
In the deepest pit of hell's fire

Avoid the fire that will destroy
Your only chance at Paradise
Choose the trail that follows His steps
Use your common sense and be wise

Fire is such a wonderful gift
When handled with care and respect
It offers us eternal life
If God's way we choose to select
