A friend of 30+ years was turned down for a mortgage yesterday because of identity theft and errors on his credit report. He has police reports and letters from those creditors proving that several accounts on his reports were fraud and would be removed by the bureaus ASAP. (What do they mean ASAP? No, not acceptable! They're incorrect so remove them NOW - AT ONCE you jerks.) The mortgage company didn't care; until his 'scores' were reflected as acceptable on the bureau's reports they would not lend him a dime. It breaks my heart to see this happen to this friend and his family; but it doesn't surprise me. It's a greedy and uncaring world we live in today.
When garbage goes in, garbage comes out Then suddenly you're not a good man
But well before this technology
All it took was a shake of one's hand
But sadly greed's taken over
And trust has gone out the window
It seems like they planned it this way
Humanity takes another blow
It's said the "bureaus" tell the truth
We take the word of a machine
Sadly we place our trust in them
Over that of a human being
It's people that put the info in
And just suppose that info is wrong
All it takes is a little mistake
And your credit is no longer strong
But "the bureaus" like it this way
For their services twice they're paid
Lenders pay them and so do we
Yes, these legal crooks have it made
For just $14.95 per month
You can get access to all your stuff
But when someone does make a mistake
Trying to fix it is really tough
How I miss the small town bankers
They always placed their faith in me
Unlike the big banks of today
All they want is their fee, fee, fee.
You've said a mouthful here. All of these entities including the feds were neck deep in fraudulent mortgages a couple of years ago and now suddenly they've seen the light and will only accept pristine applications. Yeah, Right. Rotten Bastards. Patrick
Well written. I agree that modern technology can, at times, be a huge nightmare. If each person would take pride in doing their job, whatever that job may be, CORRECTLY, our lives would be a tad less stressful.
Yes, I just came from the Holy Land on a trip to reality and I agree. A handshake used to mean something but now all we get is the third degree. I moved, then I was in the Holy Land and my mail was sent to the wrong address. But Discover wanted their money now with extra intrest and it was a great big mess. Thank God, I was able to straighten things out with a few phone calls and a chunk of my time. But now I know how easy I could have been labled the "bad guy" when we know who are the real "partners in crime." Amen my dear Friend.
