Friend
You close your eyes and make a wish.
You think of what should be.
With tears in your eyes you reach for the stars.
It’s easier to reach out to me.
No one does it all alone.
That my friend is true .
As you feel the world closing in.
Don’t allow it to paralyze you.
Pull yourself together.
I know it’s easier said than done.
But you have to start somewhere.
What better place than here and now.
Believe that change is for the best.
Believe that something better is to come.
And see your heart will surely mend.
Slowly. One day at a time.
We all have days like this at times.
Some deal with worse events.
Just believe in your inner self my friend.
And know one day, it’ll all make sense.
I won’t let you fall, so take the step.
I’ll stand by you and listen too.
All the pain and sadness you feel,
will soon be gone and a new day appear.
So, just hold on for the morning sun.
It will bring a needed change.
And you’ll see how easy it will be,
to try at love again.
