It’s My Turn…

Don’t look my way and smile with emptiness.
Don’t call my name with a hint of hate.
Don’t write me letters with empty promises.
Don’t tell me it’s not too late.

But you decided to reach out to another.
For all that I was here and waiting to give.
You lied and cheated throughout our relationship,
You broke my soul, my heart, my temper and me.

I’ve learned how to make it without you.
I’ve found my way through the darkness and tears.
I’ve found the woman I was BEFORE YOU; intelligent,
beautiful,seductive,provocative,successful,happy and FREE.

A new man in my life appreciates and loves me.
He fills my world with laughter and warmth.
There’s really nothing left for us to talk about.
The softness of my skin and the scent of my hair,
is no longer yours to experience.

So, don’t look my way with compassion.
Don’t look my way for the lust and passion.
What we had was alive because of me.
I fought for every moment with you, but now…I’m free.
