There are times I feel forgotten

And times when I’m confused

There are moments in my darkness

When I’m helpless and can’t choose

Then it passes … always passes

Yet the memories remain

Hiding in my pain

No happiness remains

There’s a silence deep within me

And a rage I can’t express

There is a darkness trying to break me

And an aching in my chest

Makes me restless, always restless

Till no part of me remains

Trying to regain

More happiness than pain

There are moments of reflection

When the insight burn so true

There are moments of confession

When I bare my soul to you

Cleanses deeply oh so deeply

Yet the anger’s still untamed

Life so filled with shame

No happiness in shame
