Based on a painting by Albert Bierstadt called "Mount Corcoran", c.1876-1877, oil on canvas

Poem Artwork

As if placed there by the artist's hand,

along the edge, a curve of dirt-kissed sand,

so much more than feeble attempts by man to grow,

torn from a childhood's wonder yet now they know

When aged eyes gaze upon mountains to touch a swollen cloud,

wrapped close in mist leaving heavy-winged birds to flap around,

so that words are taken with nature's beauty unbound,

and far-off worlds live once more in such fertile ground

Lakes of bluest blues so simple to heaven's bliss fulfil,

and even to angels seen, such sights still thrill,

for wonder gathers trees and souls both to embrace,

the blessed reverie of an artist's gentle grace.

Wow! You are so gifted....your poetry should be hanging on the wall below the space where the paintings hang. You make one feel the painting.....amazing.

To capture one of Nature's special moments is the true magic of the artist, whether it is paint on canvas or word on page. You have done a wonderful job of describing both here. Soft blessings to you and yours,
Jim

Michelle, I sense the depth of the emotional ties between the artist's rendering on canvas and your poetic rendering on paper -- this is a very moving, yet tranquil piece -- I love it -- peace and love be always with you my friend -- Jon Michael

Very intense and moving as you capture the soul of another great painting to add life to it.

Both the aetist's and nature's beauty do the same thing-- they make life worth living no matter the hardships.

I always love these match paintings to poetry you give us, Michelle. Above the World is refreshing in that its otherworldly aura lets us reach in and touch a piece of heaven, the artistry and poetess's text so close in spiritual value on the color spectrum of nature in all of its tangibility...Happy New Year, Michelle...Blessed Be.

Love,
Sage
