wild card
hid in the deck.
joker.
dueces.
one-eyed jack.

Life gets to shuffle.
Life gets to deal.
like it or not
we get to feel.

play the hand your dealt.
feel what ya' felt.
lose or win
Life deals agin'.

wild card
hid in the deck.
but what the heck.
every once in awhile ya' get one.
son of a gun.

I like your raw style, Steve. I've got more readin' to do here, but I really like this poem -- it flows with simple truth well stated.
