we play the game. we play it so well. we say the things, we never tell. we know the call. we feel the spell. we try not to look ahead, so we're always lookin' back. past choices feed the dread. past voices, ghosts, never slack. anticipation. hesitation. frustration. emotional constipation. we play the game. we play it so well. maybe this time. only time will tell.
